River Oaks
Shopping Center is the oldest shopping center in Texas and the
second oldest shopping center in the nation (Country Club Plaza
in Kansas City, Missouri is the nation's oldest). Hugh Potter,
the center's designer, began building River Oaks Shopping
Center in 1937.

Museum of Printing History
| A true neighborhood gem. Through its
permanent exhibits, the Museum
of Printing History narrates the story of written
communication and the ways in which the technologies of printing have
transformed our lives. |
Neartown Little League
| Neartown Youth Baseball was founded in 1996 by a group of concerned
citizens who sought to bring baseball to a part of inner city Houston
that had no organized baseball programs for children.

The MDBA provides an educational forum for business issues and concerns and
works to help solve them. Monthly Luncheon meetings and After-hours Membership
Mixers offer excellent networking opportunities. |
Wharton Elementary
